'My Hero Academia' Season 2 Episode 2: Deku Takes On Todoroki in Upcoming U.A. Sports Festival
It may seem like just a normal school event, but the upcoming U.A. Sports Festival can make or break the students' Pro Hero dreams in the next episode of the anime series "My Hero Academia." And after All Might himself officially dubbed Midoriya aka Deku as his potential successor, can the formerly quirkless wannabe hero match up to his mentor's expectations?
The superhero series continues its second season with the beginning of the U.A. Sports Festival, wherein the first event brings everyone together to compete in an obstacle race that will put no limit to the quirk that can be used. A dangerous situation that has already made Deku's knees buckle in fear, but as the official fledgling Symbol of Peace, All Might tells him to not just go out there but to also aim for the top.
The U.A. Sports Festival will be watched by many pro heroes and pro agencies that take advantage of the said event to scout for possible sidekicks. And for anybody who is aiming to make it to the pro league someday, this could provide the best stepping stone to finally realizing their dream. It'll be a no-holds-barred battle for supremacy, and with the added pressure of All Might's declaration of him being his successor, Deku may just find himself in dire straits before he can, hopefully, find his footing. Can he possibly live up to All Might's legacy?

The official trailer for season 2 episode 2, which is the 15th overall episode of the series, also teases an intense battle between Deku and dual-powered Todoroki. Will this give the series' struggling protagonist the chance to stand out from the rest with an unexpected burst of One For All, the power that has been passed onto him by All Might, or will this match only highlight the weaknesses that he will still have to work on?
The current season of "My Hero Academia" will reportedly run for 25 episodes and will air every Saturday at 5:30 p.m. JST on MBS. It can also be streamed online on Hulu.
