'Narcos' Season 2 News: Escobar's Death
The Netflix series "Narcos" reportedly ran into some trouble when recreating Pablo Escobar's death scene.
"Narcos" Season 1 proved to be a success as viewers became engaged in the story of Colombia's deadliest drug cartel. The series starred Wagner Moura, who portrayed the iconic character Pablo Escobar.
However, it was revealed that the show will soon see the death of the character as a way to keep true to the real life happenings of Escobar's life. The show's producer, Eric Newman, explained that the writers plan to put an end to Escobar's story in the upcoming season.
According to Slash Film, He said, "Trust me, if we could find a way to keep him alive and keep Wagner on the show. He will die. The design of the show is we told 15 years of history in Season 1. At the point of Escobar's escape which is the summer of 1992, Escobar has 18 months to live. That's not something we can change. To stretch that out beyond another season would be disingenuous of us. That story was always designed to have an ending."
In real life, the drug kingpin had died during a shootout with the cops. His death took place on a rooftop, in Medellin, Colombia. It was reported that the executives of "Narcos" were hoping to film his death at the exact location in Colombia.
However, TMZ reported that the new tenant of the house refused to let the series shoot the iconic scene at the rooftop. Because of this, the production team had to find another home in order to film Escobar's death scene.
Meanwhile, fans are wondering what else is in store for the series after the second season of the series. There are speculations that "Narcos" will not go past two season, leaving fans unhappy.
"Narcos" Season 2 is expected to air on Netflix later this year.
