'Nashville' season 4 plot news: Juliette's plans backfire
News about the plot of the upcoming season of "Nashville" was recently revealed.
The previous season left with the question of Deacon and Beverly's fate during surgery. The season ended with a heart flat lining without revealing if it was Deacon's or Beverly's. The surgery was to provide Deacon with a liver from Beverly.
The story will continue with the premiere episode titled "Can't Let It Go." It was reported that Steven Tyler will be guest starring in the episode. He will be singing "Crazy" with Juliette, played by Hayden Panetierre. Her character's career is expected to become more successful, while she remains struggling with postpartum depression. In addition, Avery will be leaving with Cadence and heading back to Texas.
It was reported that the upcoming season will feature Juliette and Avery's relationship in a rocky position. However, their baby is expected to bring them back together.
Producers also hinted that the fact that Juliette's productivity might backfire. According to Hollywood Reporter, showrunner Dee Johnson stated, "It probably feels for her, at least initially, like the form of a solution. But it's attacking a symptom and not the real cause of the problem. I don't think things will go quite as well as for her as she thinks they will with that decision having been made."
As for the rest of the characters, it was reported that Rayna will be dealing with the situation of Deacon's surgery. While fans assume that the flatline presented in the previous season's finale dictates a death, it was hinted as Johnson said, "Just for the record, a flatline doesn't necessarily mean somebody doesn't get resuscitated."
The upcoming season will also feature several characters with bigger roles. It was reported that Aubrey Peeples, who plays Layla Grant, will be a regular in the series. She plays a country singer finding her way through her career in Highway 65. Riley Smith will also be playing a recurring role throughout the season as Markus Kane. Chaley Rose will also reprise her role as Zoe who left Nashville last season.
Nashville will return with its fourth season this Sept. 23.
