'Nashville' season 4 plot news: More romance in store
With the return of "Nashville" soon approaching, ABC has revealed several teasers to excite audiences for the upcoming season.
ABC released a promo that presents a dramatic season for the Music City. However, it was evident that one essential character was absent from the promos. It was reported that Deacon, played by Charles Esten, was not all seen in the promo.
The previous season saw his fate in jeopardy when a flat line was seen while he was in surgery. Nevertheless, his absence from the promo does not necessarily confirm his death because it was still unsure whether it was him or his sister Beverly's heart that flat lined in the season finale.
The teaser also featured Scarlett, played by Clare Bowen, and Gunnar, played by Sam Palladio, hinting at the progress of their romance for the upcoming season, despite Scarlett having a boyfriend. Gunnar then teased Scarlett by asking her, "then why do you keep ending up here with me," right before they kiss. Because of that, fans are wondering whether Scarlett will remain with her boyfriend after an intimate moment with Gunnar.
As for Juliette, played by Hayden Panettierre, it was hinted that there is little chance that she will be getting back together with Avery. Reports by TVLine stated that Dee Johnson shared details on their relationship. He said, "I love that couple — I think a lot of people do. I think a lot of people are rooting for them ... They're never going to be perfect, but I don't think it's going to take a season to get them back together because they have too much tying them together."

Johnson also hinted that there may be a wedding taking place in season 4. She added, "The general feeling from many, many parties who are involved in making this show is that it would be nice to see a real wedding at some point."
Nashville will return on ABC this Sep. 23.
