'Nashville' season 4 spoilers: Luke gets new love interest; Steven Tyler guest stars
Last season, "Nashville" ended with a shocking cliff-hanger that left the fans reeling as the very last scene showed someone flat lining. It is either Deacon (Charles Easton) or his estranged sister Beverly (Dana Wheeler-Nicholson) as the two were undergoing surgery to donate her liver to Deacon. Unfortunately, fans will not know who possibly died (permanently or temporarily) until the new season returns.
Aerosmith rocker and former "American Idol" judge Steven Tyler will guest star in the upcoming season. He posted a picture of himself and Hayden Panettiere on Twitter with the following caption: "@haydenpanettier AND I GETTING A LITTLE 'CRAZY' ON SET AT @Nashville_ABC YOU WONT WANT TO MISS THIS......#PATSYCLINE." Panettiere who plays Juliette Barnes will play Patsy Cline in a biographical movie on the show. This could mean that Juliette's life is on the upswing.
The new season will introduce yet another love interest for Luke (Will Chase) after his string of tumultuous relationships in the previous season. He had a very messy breakup with Rayna (Connie Britton) and then he had a very short romance with Sadie (Laura Benanti) and an even shorter fling with Jade (Christina Aguilera).
Producers have hinted that this might be Gabrielle, an image consultant hired for Will (Chris Carmack) to deal with his publicly coming out. The vivacious consultant will butt heads with Luke at first, but sparks will fly and they may give in to the sexual tension surrounding them. However, after the exit of Jade and Sadie being very open ended, it could mean that either character could very well return in the next season.
The new season will introduce a new character named Marcus Keen, who will be played by Riley Smith. Keen is a singer who used to be a frontman of a band and will start his solo career under Highway 65, the record label of Rayna. The flailing label desperately needs Keen's album to be a hit. Keen is Rayna's new ward and her new possible headache as he might give her more problems than ever before.
Actress Aubrey Peeples has just signed on to become a series regular in the next season. Peeples played the role of Layla Grant, a country singer who had a myriad of problems last season. Hopefully, her character will have a better time this time around.
Nashville will return this fall on Sept. 23 at 10 p.m.
