NBA Latest News: Rudy Gay Explains Why Current Season is 'Toughest' of His Career
Sacramento Kings forward Rudy Gay is currently going through what he describes as the toughest season of his playing career.
The 29-year old professional basketball player joined the Kings in 2013, along with two other players. He made a strong first impression donning the purple and black jersey when he tied his 41-point career high performance in January 2014, when his team won against the New Orleans Pelicans with a score of 114-97.
But when the Kings went on a six-game losing streak in November, it was when Gay's morale began to take a dip as well. In a report by Blake Ellington for SBNation.com's Sactown Royalty, things went sourer for Gay upon the entry of Rajon Rondo into the starting line-up.

His performance during the Kings' last two games has not been that great as well. During their game against the Orlando Magic on Friday where they ended up losing with a score of 107-100, Gay scored 12 points and seven rebounds, and shot 2 out 9 from the field.
In their game against the Utah Jazz on Sunday, Gay scored a mere six points and grabbed four rebounds, and shot 3 out of 9 from the field. The Kings also lost with a score of 108-99. He was able to bounce back, however, during their Tuesday game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
In the game, Gay scored 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds, through 35 minutes of playing time, and shot 9 out 16 from the field. The Kings currently hold a record of 26-40, and are situated at the number 11 spot at the Western Conference standings.
Given the team's subpar performance in the season, Gay admits that it has been a long road. But despite of that, he is keeping himself positive.
"What doesn't kill you makes you stronger and I have to take this, share it with my children, or my nieces and nephews, or the next young player that comes up, share this experience with them," he said.
