NBA Latest Trade Rumors for 2016-17 NBA Season: Clarkson to Hawks, 76ers, Vucevic to Heat, Gay Potential Trade
As teams continue to build up their rosters, looking for new players to add or remove to have a well-balanced set of players, rumors also continue to surface. The following are the latest trade rumors in the NBA.
1. Jordan Clarkson to 76ers or Hawks
Rumors are saying that the Los Angeles Lakers will put Jordan Clarkson on the trade block if he doesn't become a better defensive player this season. Among the teams that might be interested in him are the Atlanta Hawks or the Philadelphia 76ers.
Jordan Clarkson averaged 15.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists last season. He also shot 34.7 percent from the three point range, but this is something that he is constantly working on to improve, according to Drew Hanlen, a Strategic Skills Coach and Consultant.
Both the Hawks and the Sixers need to wait until December to see if the trade offer from the Lakers ensues. That's because Clarkson signed a contract during free agency.
2. Nikola Vucevic to Heat
Two moves by the Orlando Magic made the team's front court overcrowded. First, the team obtained Serge Ibaka from Oklahoma City Thunder. Second, they signed Bismack Biyombo. With these two bigs now in the lineup, Vucevic will no longer play starting role.
A lot of teams will surely be interested in Vucevic, who had a very productive 2015-16 Season, averaging 18.2 points, 8.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game.
There is a strong possibility, due to blood clots, that Chris Bosh may never play with the Miami Heat again. If that is the case, then the Heat may be interested in getting Vucevic.
According to Ira Winderman, writer for the Sun Sentinel, Vucevic can play with the Heat, "but that's only if there's a definitive sense on what will happen with Chris Bosh, and whether Vucevic can work alongside Hassan Whiteside."
3. Rudy Gay Potential Trade
The Sacramento Kings have a new head coach in Dave Joerger, who used to coach for the Memphis Grizzlies, helping that team go to the playoffs for three straight years.
The Kings are now looking to engage in trades and other roster adjustments that will remove or add players to fit a new system and game plan. One of the players mentioned in trade rumors is Rudy Gay.
In several interviews, Rudy Gay has expressed his disappointment with the Sacramento Kings, organization. That might cause him to be traded elsewhere for reasons related to team chemistry.
Gay averaged 17.2 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game last season with the Sacramento Kings.
One of the teams that might be interested in acquiring Rudy Gay is the New York Knicks.
If Gay gets traded, the team that will get him will definitely benefit from his consistency as a scorer.
