NBA News 2015: Warriors Experience First Season Loss, Bradley Beal Sidelined At Least Two Weeks Due To Injury
Defending NBA champions Golden State Warriors experienced their first defeat of the season in the hands of the Milwaukee Bucks. Meanwhile, the Washington Wizards' Bradley Beal will be sidelined for two weeks, due to injury.
The Warriors were able to successfully keep a 28-game winning streak, which was in many ways unprecedented at the beginning of the season. It all came to an end on Saturday, when they lost to the Bucks with a score of 108-95, at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.
In a report by Yahoo! Sports, the loss came in the middle of the Warriors' seven-game road trip, including a double-overtime victory against the Boston Celtics on Friday. The report adds that the Warriors were only five wins away from reaching the Los Angeles Lakers' 71-72 winning streak of 33 games.
According to 2015 Most Valuable Player Steph Curry, it was a goal that the team had in mind, all along.
"Nobody wanted to see it come to an end. Thirty three wins was within our grasp," Curry said, according to the Yahoo! report.
In another report by Bleacher Report, the Warriors were behind by as much as 13 points in the third quarter but were able to rally back into the game. Their efforts, however, were not enough to fend off the relentless Bucks.
The report adds that the Warriors shot 40.9 percent from the field and 23.1 percent from three-point country. Curry piled in 28 points, seven rebounds, and five assists.
Meanwhile, Washington Wizards shooting guard Bradley Beal will be missing two weeks of action due to a "stress reaction" on the lower right fibula.
In a report by the Washington Post, the diagnosis on Beal's condition was determined less than 24 hours before the team's game against the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday night.
The Wizards lost to the Pelicans with a score of 107-105.
Beal had already undergone an MRI exam on Friday.
