NBA Playoffs 2016: Pistons' Reggie Jackson Undaunted with Task of Facing LeBron James and Cleveland Cavaliers

The Detroit Pistons officially ended the 2015-2016 NBA regular season at the number eight spot at the Eastern Conference standings, after losing their final game against the Miami Heat on Tuesday.

Cleveland's 99-93 loss to the third-seeded Heat puts them in position to face the conference-leading Cleveland Cavaliers at the first round of the 2016 NBA Playoffs, which is set to begin later this month.

In a report by Alec Nathan for Bleacher Report, the Pistons hold a 2-1 record over the Cavaliers in the regular season, with their most notable win happening last February 22nd in Cleveland. The Pistons ended the game with a final score of 96-88.

The report adds that despite the two victories by the Pistons, the Cavaliers remain to be the 'overwhelming favorite' in the said series.

Yet, despite the odds, Pistons' point guard Reggie Jackson seems undaunted by the task of facing the likes of Kevin Love, Kyrie Irving, and superstar LeBron James, in playoff mode. In a tweet by Ethan J. Skolnick for CBS Sports, Jackson was quoted saying that he 'would want to fight Goliath', alluding to the Cavaliers as the much superior team.

"I like it... I don't want to fight Goliath's homeboy or little brother. I want to fight Goliath," Skolnick's tweet reads.

In another report by David Mayo for MLive.com, while Jackson conceded to the fact that the Cavaliers are the division's kings, he also noted how his team is aching to prove themselves as one of the league's top contenders.

"You know, they're a tough team, and respectfully so, they're No. 1 in the East, one of the best teams in the league," Jackson said. "But we're hungry. We're hungry to prove ourselves. We're hungry and we're ready for the challenge."

For his part, Jackson was able to put up significant numbers this season so far, averaging 18.8 points, 6.2 assists, and 3.2 rebounds, through 30.7 minutes of playing time per game.
