NBA Trade Rumors 2015: Joakim Noah and Ty Lawson Potentially Moved This Month
The deadline for trades is still a couple of months away, but the unofficial NBA trading season is just around the corner. Here are two possible trades that may happen come Dec. 15.
Dallas Mavericks could be after Joakim Noah
It is no secret that Joakim Noah is struggling with the Chicago Bulls. Noah is averaging at a career-low 2.5 points and 20 minutes per game.
He has not always been this way and recently pointed out the lack of opportunities thrown at him. Noah averaged at least seven points per game at each season in the past. He even became a Defensive Player of the Year, as well as voted number 4 for the MVP.
With his impending unrestricted free agency in the summer, Noah may find himself out of the Bulls' corner and into the Dallas Mavericks' team, according to NBA insider David Thorpe of ESPN.com.
"I think his go-to would be Dallas, who's so desperate for that kind of energy again on defense," Thorpe told Zach Lowe during an interview on The Lowe Post. We know Rick Carlisle is so good at creating things and Joakim's such a great ball handler. I think he would be amazing there."
Ty Lawson up for grabs?
Steve Kyler of Basketball Insiders hinted that the Houston Rockets might be open to trading Ty Lawson, the first player to be moved from the team even.
"The Rockets have been sniffing around the league for deals and there is a belief among other teams that Lawson could be had in trade, and had cheaply," Kyler writes. "Lawson is owed $12.4 million this season with the final $13.21 million of his deal being fully non-guaranteed."
Although poor performance on court and a troublesome off-court history, Lawson's more than 6.5 assists per game career assist average may yet tempt a desperate team, says Tyler.
Trades may be fairly few this month, but basketball fans and watchers can expect trade conversations to get more serious as Dec. 15 nears. Until then, these rumors remain as such.
