NBA Trade Rumors 2015: Los Angeles Lakers to Take DeMarcus Cousins?
The Sacramento Kings have gone down the long lane of drama for the past several months not because of the team's gameplay but mainly because of the reports that indicate a "problem player" from within.
Off-court drama is present in every team, but it seems the Kings have taken theirs to a much higher and more complicated level, especially after George Karl was fired.
When Karl left, fans thought they had had enough of the roller coaster ride, but just when the flames started to die, report after report followed, explaining what really occurred between Cousins and his coach.
In a statistical report by Basketball Reference, Cousins is portrayed as the NBA's best center. The outlet also says with Cousins on the floor, the opposing team gets outscored by 3.1 points per 100 possessions, which makes for a supposedly neat start every season. However, the drama that Cousins comes with is too much of a price to pay for some, in the most recent case, the loss of Karl.
Bleacher Report says rumors have been revolving recently about Cousins being in talks for a trade with the Los Angeles Lakers. While Cousins is undoubtedly a big loss for the Kings, his trade could also mean an open door for a much peaceful run this season.
Sports Blog says, though, that the Lakers might have a little bit of a problem when Cousins lands on the team. This is because he is somehow a "problem player." "He doesn't like being told what to do, and his "fights with George Karl has proven that," the outlet explains.
Multiple outlets reported earlier that the big man went head-to-head with Karl in different occasions, which eventually led to the coach's good-bye.
Meanwhile, one of the names that has emerged when talks of a trade for Cousins was mentioned is Julius Randle. The Kings could be making a proper decision with Randle. After all, he was No. 2 in the last draft and he proves to be a good starter.
