NBA Trade Rumors for 2016-17 NBA Season: George to Bulls, Knight to Sixers
Just a few days from now, NBA 2016-17 regular season is about to begin and the continuing flow of new trade rumors is an indication of the unwavering excitement of the fans, writers and basketball analysts. Here are some of the latest NBA trade rumors.
1. Paul George to Chicago Bulls
According to Inquisitr, two teams will swap NBA stars any time this season; Indiana Pacers and the Chicago Bulls. The deal will involve Jimmy Butler and Paul George switching sides; both are all stars and are members of the 2016 USA Basketball team that represented the country in the Rio Olympics.
Specifically, the Bulls will send Jimmy Butler, Denzel Valentine, Doug McDermott and a future draft pick to the Indiana Pacers. In addition, the Pacers will trade their franchise player, Paul George.
George will form a big three in Chicago alongside Rajon Rondo and Dwyane Wade. A starting lineup consisting of Rajon Rondo, Dwyane Wade, Paul George, Taj Gibson and Robin Lopez would most likely contend for an Eastern Conference championship.
Moreover, if this trade gets realized, the Indiana Pacers will have a strong starting lineup consisting of Jeff Teague, Jimmy Butler, Monta Ellis, Myles Turner and Thaddeus Young.
On the other hand, it seems more likely that the Pacers will keep Paul George in their roster. It seems the team has added new players to their roster during the off-season to build around George; players like Jefferson, Ellis and Jeff Teague.
George averaged 23.1 points, 7.0 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game last season.
Jimmy Butler is also an All-Star, showing what he can do when teammate Derrick Rose missed a lot of games due to recurring injuries. Butler averaged 20.9 points, 5.3 rebounds and 4.8 assists last season.
2. Brandon Knight to the Philadelphia 76ers
Game N Guide reports a rumor stating that the Phoenix Suns might trade one of their top point guards to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for one of the Sixer's top big man.
In particular, Brandon Knight might be heading to the Sixers in a trade, and the Suns will get Jahlil Okafor or Nerlens Noel. The Sixers could use a point guard and could also loosen up on the log jam they have in the front court, especially with the return of Joel Embiid.
Okafor and Noel are young and talented and could help secure any team's future in terms of defensive and offensive contributions near the rim.
Brandon Knight played as a bench player for the first time in a preseason game against the Spurs. "I will do my best to stay warm, figure it out. You have to be professional about it and remain positive."
