NBA Trade Rumors for 2016-17 NBA Season: Lamb to 76ers, Russell to Pacers, Gay to Bulls, Thunder or Rockets

The 2016 NBA off-season is filled with trade rumors as teams continue to smooth out the rough edges of their rosters. Here are some of the latest trade rumors.

1. Jeremy Lamb to the Philadelphia 76ers

The Charlotte Hornets had a relatively successful 2015-16 NBA season, making it to the 1st round of the Eastern Conference playoffs and testing Miami Heat with 7 competitive games before finally succumbing.

Losing their solid backup point guard in Jeremy Lin, the Hornets are rumored to make trades and compensate for the off-season roster changes. According to one rumor, the Hornets is willing to give up Jeremy Lamb, along with 2 future draft picks, in exchange for Jahlil Okafor for the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Sixers have been rumored to trade away one of their big men since there is a log jam in their front court. Philadelphia is, in particular, looking to replace one of their bigs for a shooter. The Hornets could provide them with a dependable shooter in Jeremy Lamb.

Jeremy Lamb averaged 8.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 31% shooting from the three-point line last season. Playing with the Sixers alongside Embiid, Saric and Simmons, the group will have a well-balanced offense with threats from both inside and out.

It seems to be a win-win situation for both teams, since the Hornets is looking for a more consistent front court player. The team already has great shooters in Kemba Walker, Marco Belinelli and Nicolas Batum. Having a strong center like Okafor would improve the team's dynamics and versatility.

As a rookie last season, Okafor averaged 17.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game. Not only can Okafor provide much needed paint defense, he can also put in close to 20 points a game.

2. D'Angelo Russell to Indiana Pacers

According to Mobilenapps, D'Angelo Russell might be heading to the Indiana Pacers soon after a trade, which brings star Paul George to the Lakers.

The Lakers hasn't had much success during the past few seasons, and have actually found themselves near the bottom, if not at the bottom, of the Western Conference season standings. Perhaps another star like Paul George in this post-Kobe era could help the team bring back the glory days.

Paul George is obviously no cheap commodity, and some reports also suggest the Lakers are willing to add a few other players to the mix, including Julius Randle and future draft picks.

3. Rudy Gay to the Bulls, Thunder or Rockets

Inquisitr reports that the Kings have more than a few options when it comes to trading Rudy Gay. Teams that are interested in Rudy Gay's talents include the Chicago Bulls, Oklahoma City Thunder and Houston Rockets.

Gay, a 10-year veteran, averaged 17.2 points, 6.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. Indeed, Gay is valuable to the Sacramento Kings because of his production on the court, especially with his ability to shoot open threes to space the floor.

However, ESPN mentioned that Gay himself wants to be traded. The Thunder can offer Andre Roberson and Ersan Ilyasova for Gay. The Bulls can give Doug McDermott and Taj Gibson. Finally, the Rockets can trade Corey Brewer or Patrick Beverley in exchange for Gay.
