NBA Trade Rumors for 2016-17 NBA Season: Okafor, Davis and Fredette to Boston Celtics
The following are the latest trade rumors in the NBA.
1. Jahlil Okafor to Boston Celtics
According to University Herald, Jahlil Okafor of the Philadelphia 76ers will be traded to the Boston Celtics. If this trade pushes through, then the Celtics will definitely benefit from having a big man who can provide offense on the inside.

The Philadelphia 76ers is also probably willing to give up one of their big men, either Jahlil Okafor or Nerlens Noel, since they have a log jam in the front court. At least on paper, this trade seems like a win-win situation for both teams.
However, since both teams belong in the same division, it doesn't seem logical for them to give each other what their roster needs.
Nerlens Noel has also been linked with a Celtics trade. Some reports state that the Celtics are willing to give Marcus Smart to the Sixers in exchange for Noel, who is known for his defensive skills in the paint.
One factor that might influence the Sixers to trade Okafor is if Joel Embiid is capable of staying healthy during the 2016-17 NBA regular season.
2. Anthony Davis to Boston Celtics
According to iTech Post, New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis might be traded to the Boston Celtics.
In exchange, the Celtics will give up Marcus Smart, Jaylen Brown and Amir Johnson to the Pelicans. This trade works under the trading rules of the NBA. While this trade scenario is legitimate, it remains to be seen whether both teams will agree to this exchange.
3. Jimmer Fredette to the Boston Celtics
Yet another trade involving the Celtics is mentioned in Hofmag.com. This time, it involves Jimmer Fredette and whether or not the Celtics should sign him.
Fredette had an amazing college career. In his senior year at BYU, Fredette averaged 28.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game. He is perhaps most well-known for his unlimited range.
Unfortunately, his success in college did not translate in the pros. He averaged 6.0 points, 1.0 rebound and 1.4 assists per game for his entire NBA career. Fredette did have a stint at the D-League where he showed he is still capable of putting up big numbers.
The Celtics need a three-point shooter, which is a hot commodity in the league these days. Fredette can provide the long range threat that the team needs to open up the floor for other, more athletic players. Fredette can provide that kind of advantage for the Celtics.
