NBA Trade Rumors: Joakim Noah to Leave Bulls, Mario Chalmers Potential for Trade to Grizzlies?
The battles to determine the best NBA players and teams have barely started, but rumors are already hot on some players such as Joakim Noah and Mario Chalmers.
Noah was once an MVP candidate and was one of the big men in the Chicago Bulls who roared in the court, but recently, rumors suggest that he might be one of the bigger guys that the Bulls need to let go.
With Taj Gibson, Nikola Mirotic, and Paul Gasol on board, Noah's presence is said to add too much talent to the team, which might be the reason why he has come off the bench recently. A report by All About Rookies suggests that if Gibson continues to be on court for 20 minutes in the coming games, there is only one name that could be leaving the team and that is Noah.
The outlet adds that Noah's loss may open doors for rookie Bobby Portis to get his game on and continue being a decent regular on court. Another prospect player who can replace Noah is Cameron Bairstow, who needs more minutes to develop his skills.
As the contract says, Noah is on his last year with the Bulls and he is said to have struggled from the beginning of the season. If he gets traded to a team that will allow him to be a starter, he might once again reclaim his gameplay and be the player his fans recognized for finishing 4th in the MVP list two seasons ago.
Meanwhile, another player is in the hot seat after Marc Stein of ESPN tweeted that he has been informed of talks between the Grizzlies and the Heat about possibly letting Chalmers go.
Chalmers has been a good point guard for LeBron James after the Miami Heat acquired him in 2008, but this season, fans saw him struggle with just 19 minutes per game, including just 5.5 points and 3.0 assists.
While he remains a vital player in the team, but if Stein's information proves to be true, the Grizzlies, or another team who decides to trade for him will get a good shot at better games. The reason behind is obvious, Chalmers is a highly decorated star with an NCAA championship and two sparkling NBA titles to his name.
