NBA Trade Rumors: Miami Heat May Be Looking to Buy During This Trading Season, but Which Players Can They Get?
Miami Heat reportedly seeking a power forward who can provide some outside shooting and stout defense
The Miami Heat are probably the most surprising playoff contenders to emerge this season. However, now that they have benefited from such a stunning, recent run of success, the latest NBA trade rumors are hinting that they are looking for even more, and that could mean trying to improve the team via trade.
In a recent article, Sean Deveney of the Sporting News reported that the Heat have shifted from being somewhat reluctant sellers to now eager buyers.
Furthermore, sources spoken to by the Sporting News also hinted that the Heat may specifically be looking to upgrade their power forward spot.
This is where things can get complicated for Miami.
Even if they are now looking to acquire more talent to bolster their team for the coming playoff push, it's not like there are just available starting power forwards waiting to be traded for.
Serge Ibaka of the Orlando Magic has had his name mentioned in the rumor mill a lot recently, which is not surprising. However, given that so many teams may be after the power forward, the cost for dealing for him may prove to be too high for the Heat to afford.
If Ibaka proves to be out of their price range, then perhaps the Heat can look into possibly dealing for Danilo Gallinari of the Denver Nuggets. Gallinari is obviously not the same defender that Ibaka is, but he can still be a significant upgrade for the Heat.
Unfortunately for the Heat, they happen to be seeking a new power forward capable of scoring from long range at a point in time during which those players are in demand, so there may not be too many of them out there on the market.
Even if they may not find their ideal player on the market, the Miami Heat will still be a team to watch this month, especially as NBA trade rumors continue to hint at how they may be looking to set themselves up for the rest of the season.
