NBA Trade Rumors 2014: Wesley Matthews, Jamal Crawford, NY Knicks and More on the Trade Block
As the year comes to a close, the NBA has already started looking at trade prospects and rumors have started circulating on just who is up for the chopping block, such as Wesley Matthews, Corey Brewer and more.
The official trade deadline has been set for February 2015, but teams found there was no harm in sizing up the competition.
Matthews' name is being thrown about after rumors claimed that the Cleveland Cavaliers were looking to nab him from the Portland Trail Blazers and add him to their roster to replace Shawn Marion.
However, reports claimed that the Trail Blazers had no plans to let Matthews go, though the Cavaliers might still hash out a deal.
Brewer from the Minnesota Timberwolves is reportedly being sized up by the Houston Rockets to playalongside their own James Harden, with claims also coming in that Brewer would not be opposed to a trade off.
Jamal Crawford of the Los Angeles Clippers is also on the line of fire as teams such as Sacramento Kings, Denver Nuggets and Oklahoma City Thunders are reportedly looking him up.
The entire New York Knicks team, save for Carmelo Anthony, might also be available for trading.Their agent Leon Rose has denied the reports though, but president Phil Jackson might still decide on trading off some players given their not-so-stellar performance this season.
Other teams rumored to be undergoing a lineup change are the Los Angeles Lakers, Indiana Pacers, Charlotte Hornets and more.
Brandon Jennings and Josh Smith of the Detroit Pistons might end up with Boston Celtics and Sacramento Kings, respectively. Both J.R. Smith of the New York Knicks and Brook Lopez of the Brooklyn Nets might get traded off to the Charlotte Hornets. Deron Williams of the Brooklyn Nets might land with the Los Angeles Lakers.
