NCAA Roundup, North Carolina, Kansas and Oregon Face Big Battles in the Sweet 16

Only a few teams are left in the collegiate tournament

As the 2016 NCAA Tournament continues, the bracket gets smaller and only a few teams are left to battle for the chance to be the National Champion and gain bragging rights for the year.

Among the 16 teams left playing, the Kansas Jayhawks, North Carolina Tar Heels and Oregon Ducks have proven that the top seed given to them is well-earned as they are marching on and are looking strong.

For Kansas, they are preparing to face fifth seed Maryland Terrapins on March 24, with the battle to be played at 9:40 PM ET.

Kansas opened up their tournament with an impressive 105-79 win over Austin Peay as they showed no mercy over their underdog opponents.

In the next round, things got a little tougher as they were given the task of eliminating the Connecticut Huskies in the second round.

It was a little challenging, but Kansas definitely deserved the victory as they eventually went away with a 73-61 victory.

Now they need another great performance as they are against the fifth seed in a battle that will help them secure a place in the Elite 8.

For North Carolina, the tournament has been easy at the moment as the Tar Heels have dominated their first two opponents to land in the Sweet 16.

First, the Tar Heels trashed the FGCU Eagles 83-67, before going on to dominate the Providence Friars 85-66.

This time, they are up against the Indiana Hoosiers and nothing less than another stellar performance is needed for them to continue their journey this season.

Finally, the Oregon Ducks have an uphill battle ahead as they are facing the defending champions the Duke Blue Devils in the Sweet 16.

Oregon breezed through the first round by beating Holy Cross 91-52, but had a tougher time against Saint Joseph's as they squeezed by 69-64.

Now in what could be their toughest battle of the year, the Ducks will hope to outlast the Blue Devils.
