'NCIS: LA' Season 7 Cast News, Update: Series Creator Shane Brennan Explains Callen's Actions
The Season 7 premiere of CBS' hit police-procedural drama TV series "NCIS: Los Angeles" was a big one for Chris O'Donnell's character, Callen, as the team tries to figure out how to get him back into the fold. After what he did, it seems hard enough for him and for his colleagues to easily patch things up.
Creator Shane Brennan recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter, to reveal how this "fragile emotional state" had led him to go into the dark side, which includes making a deal with the Russian mobsters.
For those who missed it, Anatoli demanded for Callen to steal a painting back in exchange for some information about his father whom the NCIS agent was formerly led to believe was dead but was alive, after all.
According to Brennan, who previewed to THR the events of Episode 1 titled "Active Measures" ahead of its airing on Monday, these actions from Callen weren't done "in the spur of the moment" but rather, it is a "planned moment."
Brennan went on to tease that Callen's hunt for the truth about his family and its connection to the Arkady will continue deeper into Season 7.
Moving on, Episode 2, which is called "Citadel," is said to go in a different plot direction. Citing the spoiler report from CarterMatt.com, the synopsis said that DEA agent Talia Del Campo (Mercedes Mason) will call on the NCIS: LA team for help after she found her partner was murdered.
Meanwhile, the dramatic situation between Kensi (Daniela Ruah) and Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) is expected to get even more complicated come when the latter surprises Kensi by introducing her to his mother, played by Pamela Reed.
More interesting events are also coming over this Season 7. Cast member LL Cool J earlier told Entertainment Weekly that Michael Weatherly's Tony DiNozzo of the parent show, "NCIS," is coming over to LA and things might not come smooth right off that bat between Sam and the newcomer.
"NCIS: LA" Season 7 airs Mondays, at 10 p.m. on CBS.
