'NCIS: LA' Season 7 Episode 21 Spoilers: Nate Getz Returns

After that brief hiatus, CBS' hit police procedural drama TV series "NCIS: Los Angeles" Season 7 resumes on air with a brand new episode that will see the return of actor Peter Cambor as OSP Psychologist Nate Getz. His comeback, however, won't be what the fans will expect.

The character hasn't been seen since Season 6 and is now resurfacing as an undercover NCIS agent who appears to be working undercover for a crime syndicate. Or is he one of the bad guys already?

The synopsis from The Futon Critic for the episode titled "Head of the Snake" says that the spotlight turns to Getz when he failed to check in with Hetty (Linda Hunt) while working on a mission to infiltrate a terrorist group. As it turns out, it looks like the psychologist is now working under an infamous crime ring leader.

To reveal more details about the upcoming episode, Spoilers Guide shares a series of sneak peeks. One clip sees the NCIS team examining CCTV footage of a carjacking incident. The footage shows a delivery truck bearing the name Hidden Hills Produce being targeted by a group of armed men. Looking more closely, Kensi (Daniela Ruah) realized that one of the culprits is Nate.

Owen (Miguel Ferrer) explains to everyone that the person in question is actually on a long period mission and it has been 12 weeks already since his last report.

It could be deduced that he's actually been forced or threatened to do things against his will, his sudden unexpected action during a rescue operation made the entire NCIS to raise their eyebrows.

In the promo, he double-crossed Sam (LL Cool J) and Callen (Chris O'Donnell) who were there to help him escape. Instead, he pointed a gun at them when the two prepares to engage their attackers on front.

Making things even worse is the fact that Nate is the one facilitating the water boarding torture and interrogation of Agent Callen.

What exactly has been going on with Doc Nate?
