'NCIS: LA' Season 7 Spoilers, Plot Update: Deeks and Kensi's Relationship In Trouble?

As fans saw at the end of last week's "Defectors," Detective Marty Deeks is in serious trouble.

The final moments of Episode 9, in which Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) was taken away by the LAPD, left his partner Kensi (Daniela Ruah) in shock at the unexpected turn of events. But while Kensi seems certain that Deeks would never be involved in something as heinous as murder, Deeks himself may not be so sure.

"There's obviously things that you share with the people that you love, and then there are things that are so dark and so deep that you can't even share them with yourself," Eric Christian Olsen told E! News. "I think that's what Deeks is dealing with right now," he added.

Deek's arrest will have serious consequences for the entire "NCIS:LA" team, which will be tasked with proving his innocence. But it will also put his relationship with Kensi to the test.

According to Olsen, Kensi is the person with whom Deeks has had the best relationship of his life. Yet, something in his past is so troubling that he doesn't want to admit it to her - or even to himself. "He just hoped it would go away and obviously this is the resurrection of this darkness," Olsen said.

Will this new obstacle end Deeks' and Kensi's romantic relationship?

According to Ruah, Kensi only wants Deeks to cooperate and talk to her, and that she gets frustrated when he doesn't give her a clear answer. Ruah said: "I think she knows there's more to the story than what he's saying, and he's not opening up to her. That's hurtful not only on a partner level but also on a relationship level."

Fans of the show will soon find out what Deeks is accused of, but already know that it's something bad. Could it be murder? And will Deeks ever get out of jail?

Find out what happens to Marty Deeks when Episode 10: "Internal Affairs" airs on Dec. 7, after its Thanksgiving hiatus.
