'NCIS LA' Season 8 Episode 17 Spoilers: Callen and Anna Gets a Prisoner for a Third Wheel

Callen (Chris O'Donnell) and company will find themselves in some interesting missions in a new episode of "NCIS: Los Angeles" season 8, "Queen Pin."

These missions, unfortunately, come at the worst possible time for both Callen and Anna (Bar Paly), who recently rekindled their romance.

The synopsis for "NCIS: LA" season 8, episode 17 teases that the lovebirds planned a special date night, which will be crashed by Hetty (Linda Hunt), who gives the two an important job — protect a terrorist.

Not everything is ruined for Callen and Anna though. Despite a strange task at hand, the two will still find themselves enjoying a road trip, which is part of the efforts to keep the subject safe.

The promotional stills for "NCIS: LA" season 8, episode 17 suggests that the pair's supposed date will also involve engaging in a shootout, quickly making things far less romantic than they hoped.

Add to that the fact that they have to protect the prisoner, who, as shown in another promotional image, is recognized by some people during one of Anna and Callen's stopovers.

As all this takes place, Sam (LL Cool J) does his own mission in "NCIS: LA" season 8, episode 17, which is to go undercover to stop "the biggest crime organization in L.A." Sam will assume a former alias in order to do so.

This goal is to capture an ever-elusive drug lord and just by the sound of it, this mission comes with its own set of risks that can put Sam's life in serious danger with one wrong move.

However, as Sam says in the promo for "NCIS: LA" season 8, episode 17, they are playing a game of chess and not checkers and the agent appears to be very confident of his odds.

"NCIS: LA" season 8, episode 17, "Queen Pin," airs Sunday, March 12, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
