'NCIS: Los Angeles' Season 8 Spoilers: Kensi and Deeks Get Engaged, But Have to Be Apart for A While
A life-altering condition of Kensi's will separate them and will change the whole team's dynamics.
The "NCIS: Los Angeles" Season 8 premiere is just a month away and fans are all geared up to know what happens next to two of their favorite characters in the show, Kensi Blye (Daniela Ruah) and Marty Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen). Last season, fans were teased with a proposal, but an official one is said to be forthcoming in the new season.
Long-awaited proposal
This is just among the revelations Ruah and Deeks made in an interview about what is in store for their characters and their relationship in "NCIS: Los Angeles" Season 8. The fans have been witness to Kensi and Deeks's rather special relationship in the series. They have been more than friends, but it was only last season when they decided to move in together. And, in the upcoming season, the fans will be getting the proposal they have been waiting for over eight years.
Greatest thing to happen
Olsen and Ruah also revealed that since Ruah's real-life pregnancy was not incorporated in "NCIS: Los Angeles" Season 8, the writers were able to come up with a way to deal with it. She and Olsen got to shoot eight episodes of the story arc for their characters.
The pregnancy turned out to be the greatest thing that happened to Kensi and Deeks, gushed Olsen. The storyline that came out of it would never have happened to the onscreen couple without the pregnancy.
Life-altering condition
Ruah agreed that the life-altering condition that Kensi will find herself in turns out best for their characters. Every season for eight years, they always tried to look for things to keep the audience interested and Ruah's pregnancy came out to be perfectly timed after all.
The life-altering condition Ruah talked about will create a series of events that Kensi and Deeks will have to get over with. It will happen very early in the season and it is said to change the whole NCIS team's dynamics.
Kensi's ex-fiance
Ruah also talked about her character's ex fiance Jack Simon and his possible return in the upcoming season of "NCIS: Los Angeles". It could be remembered that Jack was a former marine who suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). He worked for the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) as the White Ghost.
In Season 5, Kensi was supposed to be the one to assassinate him during an assignment in Afghanistan. She missed out in killing him and got captured herself. Her team, which included Deeks, was able to get her released.
Jack Simon's return to "NCIS: Los Angeles" has not been confirmed yet. If ever, he can surely make things more interesting in Kensi and Deeks's relationship.
The premiere of "NCIS: Los Angeles" Season 8 will be shown on October 2 on CBS.
