'NCIS: New Orleans' Season 3: New Agent Clashes with Team Pride; Premiere Episode Synopsis Revealed
FBI Special Agent Tammy Gregorio investigates Pride's team in the wake of the Brody fiasco.
Big changes await viewers when "NCIS: New Orleans" returns on September 20. The biggest of them all is that Agent Brody will not be a member of Pride's team anymore. An FBI Special Agent is heading to New Orleans this fall to investigate the circumstances surrounding Agent Brody's departure.
Merry Brody written off
Last month, it was reported that actress Zoe McLellan will no longer be back in "NCIS New Orleans" Season 3 to reprise her role as Agent Meredith "Merry" Brody. The character was written off from the series even before the filming started. Production had a lot of time, therefore, to cast a new female character to fill the void caused by her departure.
McLellan was an original cast member of "NCIS: New Orleans". She appeared in two episodes of the original "NCIS" series in 2014, before being asked to audition for the role of Agent Brody.
Brody's departure from Team Pride is an offshoot of some poor choices she made in the previous season. She got involved with Homeland Security Agent John Russo (Ivan Sergei), who turned out to be not only an anti-military fanatic, but a double agent as well. Russo was the man responsible for the big explosives threat in New Orleans.
By the book method
The resulting black mark in Brody's otherwise stellar career was what prompted the Federal Bureau of Investigation to send a Special Agent named Tammy Gregorio (Vanessa Ferlito) to look into and monitor the activities of the team. Because of the Brody fiasco, Agent Dwayne Pride (Scott Bakula) and the rest of the team were put on administrative leave.
When "NCIS: New Orleans" Season 3 premieres, it will begin when Tammy arrives to start her investigation. Spoilers indicate that she will lead Agent Pride's team to an unspecified location as she investigates them.
Tammy Gregorio is described as a 35-year-old agent who will cause friction to Pride's team because of her by the book method of performing her job. Dwayne Pride and his team are used to working in their own way, which will make Tammy feel a bit out of place.
Season 3 premiere episode synopsis
Unknown to many, Tammy has a few dark secrets of her own that might have an effect on the team and the town. The new agent will be introduced in the "NCIS: New Orleans" Season 3 premiere episode titled 'Aftershocks'.
Meanwhile, CBS has released the official synopsis of the said episode. The NCIS team partners with several federal agencies to take down a sniper. It will be a crowded festival weekend in New Orleans , which will make it tougher for Agent Pride and his team.
Sebastian's mom
Also to be introduced very early in the season is Sebastian Lund's (Rob Kerkovich) mother. Wendie Malick will play Sylvia Lund, the loving but overprotective mother of the agency's resident forensic scientist.
Sylvia treats Sebastian like a young boy who still needs her special care and attention. There will surely be some embarrassing moments when the doting mother decides to show up in her nerdy son's workplace.
