It will be in Shanghai where the second half of the segment titled "Stop the Bleeding" will take place. Glasberg described it as being "like a little movie" mixed with "tremendous international flavour."

Fans will also get to see the probie McGee (Sean Murray) stepping up on his call of duty with Gibbs (Mark Harmon) currently out of commission.

"Those skills are going to get tested not only at the beginning of the season but throughout the season. There's some really challenging stuff coming up for McGee," the showrunner speaks of the character (via Fox).

Emily Wickersham's Ellie Bishop, on the other hand, will stumble on some "surprising marriage issues" which will affect her personal growth as well as professional development as an agent.

One big Abby (Pauley Perrette) story is also coming in Season 13. Glasberg said that episode five, which is currently being filmed, will feature the skills and wits of the beloved forensic scientist as she battles her way out from a very dangerous situation.

With the intention to keep the series fresh for the audience, the show boss told Fox that he and the writers are, from time to time, making references on the current global issues especially that of terrorism and crime.

"I wouldn't say we're a ripped-from-the-headlines type of show, but once in a while we come up with something and it seems like we're pretty close to what's happening currently," he said (via Fox).

"NCIS" Season 13 premieres tonight on CBS.
