'NCIS' Season 13 Cast News, Update: Will Cote De Pablo's Ziva Ever Come Back?

One of the most pervading questions in CBS' hit police-procedural drama TV series "NCIS" points out to the possibility of Cote de Pablo's character, Ziva David, returning to the show. This new TV scoop might bring hope to the issue.

In an interview with TV Line's Michael Ausiello, series actor Michael Weatherly (as Tony) said that although there's no particular insider news on whether the special agent will be coming back or not, there are however, some information indicating the arrival of "very special guests."

"I have come to understand that there will be, later in the year, some guest stars that will melt the avid NCIS viewer's brain," the actor told TV Line.

Executive producer Gary Glasberg appears to chime in with Weatherly's vibe and said that the show has got "some really fine guest spots that aren't locked in yet."

Can these clues be used to confirm Ziva's reappearance? The fans may have to hold on to their horses.

However, if it's de Pablo to be asked, the chances for a Season 13 or the coming chapters with Ziva in it are very positive.

In an earlier interview with the media outlet, the Chilean actress said that Ziva's exit storyline "was rushed." She did, however, remained grateful for the opportunity to portray the fan-favorite character.

"I would have liked little bit of closure," she told TV Line. But the possibility for Ziva to return is more probable than never. The fact that "they never killed the character off is very telling," she said.

"Under the right circumstances, I think it could definitely be explored," she went on to say (via TV Line).

When asked personally, de Pablo hinted that she would gladly take the invitation, if ever the plan comes to fruition, and as long as "it was the right story" to tell.

"NCIS" Season 13 premieres Tuesday, September 22 on CBS. Stay tuned for more updates.
