'NCIS' Season 13 News, Update: Showrunner Gary Glasberg Teases Characters That Will Reconnect With Gibbs; Actress Pauley Perrette Shares An "All Girl" Scene
Fans better brace themselves to see some familiar faces when the 13th season of the CBS' hit police-procedural drama TV series "NCIS" returns to the small screen. Meanwhile, one cast member dropped in some hints about an "all girl" scene.
Right over at TVGuide.com, it was revealed that as Gibbs (Mark Harmon) is recovering from the gunshot wound he incurred at Season 12's finale, a glimpse of his past "will come back to haunt him – in more ways than one."
Divulged further by the media outlet, it is said that while the special agent is battling for his life following the surgery performed by guest star Jon Cryer, Gibbs will start to have some hallucinations of his former colleague/mentor in the force, Mike Franks (Muse Watson). As a refresher, Franks was killed back in the 8th season when he returned to help Gibbs and the team deal with Paloma and Alejandro.

According to TVGuide.com, showrunner Gary Glasberg says, "You have to remember that Gibbs is in a difficult place. He's going to see some things and talk with some people that might surprise everybody. It's no surprise that Mike is there, but there are some other people from his past who he also interacts with, in some really touching scenes."
However, not all returning will just be inside Gibbs' head. As further teased by the EP, the second episode of the new season will find an "old friend" who brings some information that "sheds a bunch of light on Gibbs' past and things that we still don't know about."
Meanwhile, it has been reported that filming for the rest of Season 13 is still happening and it can't be helped that some behind-the-scene snippets will find its way online.
Pauley Perrette, who plays the lab techie Abby Sciuto, dished out on Friday that the upcoming season will feature an all-female scene.
Citing Enstarz.com, the 46-year-old snapped a photo of herself with co-stars Emily Wickersham (as Ellie Bishop) and guest Margo Harshman (as girlfriend to one of the show's characters).
Although not confirmed, the photo did offer a bit of a clue that the trio might be working on a case inside Abby's lab. What this scene could be? We'll find out when "NCIS" Season 13 returns this Sept. 22 on CBS.
