'Need for Speed' Update: Patch 'Icons' Detailed, AI Catch Up Changes Made, Community Events Added
Racing video game "Need for Speed" is getting a new patch called the "Icons." According to Destructoid, developer Ghost Games has released the details for the update that will bring some improvements to the latest version of the franchise.
For starters, they are making some changes to their AI Catch Up system. Community lead Ben Walke wrote on the official blog of the game saying that they have been hearing the voices of their fans. That's why when they pointed out the balance of the AI Catch Up System, the team read their feedbacks, watched their videos and their live streams. They then created changes to the AI behavior which would be revealed once the patch is released.
Walke also revealed that a new tile will be added on the main menu screen. It will update gamers for any community event that is taking place and those that are still to happen. They will be bringing three types of events which will stretch throughout the coming months and offer tokens like bonus cash, discounts and bonus REP.
Aside from that, two new Icon cars will be available— Ken Block's Hoonicorn and Morohoshi's Lamborghini Diablo SV. Morohoshi's car will be incorporated with cool neon lights. The color picker will also be updated with a 2.0 version which will consist of recent colors, pre-set colors, recent materials, pre-set materials and numerical values on the color sliders. These new features will allow the user to precisely select color or material.
Fans can also watch out for a Mirror Decal as well as an increase in the limit of the REP from 50 to 60. A new set of Daily Challenges and new trophies and achievements will also be included. Aside from that, the update will fix a number of bugs and bring tweaks and improvements.
The rollout of the update will begin on Nov. 25.
