New 'challenges' awaiting for the remaining survivors this fall on 'The Walking Dead' season 6
Rick Grimes, played by Andrew Lincoln, and the other remaining survivors of "The Walking Dead" will face new challenges, and staying alive this season will still be an uphill battle.
According to Lauren Cohan, who was recently interviewed by Entertainment Weekly, a few of the strong and steady characters will be seen crumbling, and adjusting to the life in Alexandria will be difficult. "And I think what's been really interesting is that you see us all kind of make strides in the direction of civility or civilization and a more regimented society," said the actress playing Maggie Green.
Cohan added that this was one of the hardest season yet, and she credits the writers for the thrilling action sequences they write. "And I think this season is no exception and definitely rises above. We have the most suffocating beginning to the season that I've experienced yet," she claimed.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the cast claims this year's premiere is unlike any other premiere that the show has ever made. During this season, the fight against the "Walkers" and other treacherous humans will continue, as seen on the Comic-Con trailer released last July. Rick is seen urging the residents of the Alexandria Safe Zone to prepare for the dangers outside the walls, but not everyone agrees with him. Trouble continues with the Walkers attacking humans and it seems like Rick has failed to keep everyone alive since Abraham, played by actor Michael Cudlitz, was seen carrying a body for burial.
The Wolves are also confirmed to come back this upcoming season as published by The Hollywood Reporter. It will be a battle of "Us versus Them" between Rick's group and the Wolves this season, adding more threats to the lives of the survivors.
AMC's much-awaited zombie drama will return this Oct. 11 at 9 p.. EDT, with a 90-minute premiere.
