Brandon Bolden Re-signs With the New England Patriots
The New England Patriots have been looking to add some depth to the running back position this offseason. But instead of pursuing a big name player like Jamaal Charles or Adrian Peterson, the team decided to re-sign one of their own free agent running backs. It's not LeGarrette Blount, though.
The Patriots have announced that they are bringing Brandon Bolden back to New England. The team did not disclose the terms of the deal.
With Rex Burkhead, James White, Dion Lewis, James Develin and D.J. Foster already on the roster, Bolden probably won't see much playing time next season unless someone goes down with an injury. However, he should continue to play a vital role on special teams.

Bolden may not be a popular player, but quarterback Tom Brady holds him in high regard.
"One of the best teammates I've ever had. So selfless. He's got the best personality. He's the most positive person. He'll be a friend the rest of my life. ... When I think of Brandon, I just think of all the things that have made so many of our players on our Patriots team great. His attitude, his toughness, his belief in himself," Brady said, according to ESPN.
Bolden went undrafted in 2012 and he ended up signing with the Patriots as a free agent. He has appeared in 67 games with the Patriots and he managed to compile 203 carries for 845 yards along with six touchdowns. He also had 46 receptions for 366 yards with two touchdowns. Furthermore, Bolden has registered 20 special team tackles and a blocked punt.
His playing time may have dwindled steadily year after year, but Bolden remains an important player on the roster.
Meanwhile, the Patriots might not be done and they could add another running back to the roster. They recently brought in Peterson for a free agent visit and Blount remains an option as well.
