These two teams come into Week 3 with just the one win between them. The Raiders are still searching for their first win of the season, coming into the game on 0-2. The Patriots meanwhile are 1-1 and know they need to improve quickly if they are to push ahead in the division.
The Patriots suffered a second half blowout against the Miami Dolphins in their season opener. After going in at half time 20-10 ahead it looked like they would be able to pull out further ahead in the second half. However, the Dolphins launched not only a good fight-back, but they destroyed the Patriots in the second half, scoring 23 unanswered points to claim a 33-20 victory.

In Week 2 they looked much more solid, gaining a 30-7 victory in Minnesota over the Vikings. They will want to put on another performance like that one today to ensure they move to 2-1 and maintain their recovery.
The Raiders though suffered a tough loss last week, losing 14-30 to the Houston Texans in California. That result further revealed their problems that were exposed in their opening day loss against the New York Jets when they lost 14-19.
The Raiders will have to be at their best today if they are even to compete with the Patriots.
