New iPhone, iPad Air 3 Rumors: Devices To Be Unveiled Next Month?

For Apple fans who are not into big screen phones, such as the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, the opportunity to own an updated smaller-screen iPhone may just be within their reach as Apple is rumored to be introducing a four-inch iPhone this coming March 15 and then supposedly releasing it by March 18, according to 9to5Mac.

While the report of the website is not echoed by any official report from Apple itself, there might be something in 9to5Mac's report as it has a track record of correctly predicting Apple products.

If the report is true, Apple gadget fanatics can soon get hold of the latest iPhone, which, despite having the same size with one of its predecessors, the iPhone 5C, it is rumored to carry several changes internally.

Apart from coming with a camera that can be at par with that of the iPhone 6, the rumored device will boast of a Near Field Communication (NFC) chip for Apple Pay and will run on Apple's newest unnamed processor.

However, it is not only iPhone fans who have a reason to look forward to March 18. Along with the supposed release of the newest iPhone, iPad fanatics also have a reason to celebrate as the iPad Air 3 is also rumored to be released on the same day.

The upcoming iPad Air 3 is alleged to have a Smart connector, suggesting that the new tablet is capable of connecting to other devices, such as the Smart Keyboard and Apple Pencil that are bundled with the iPad Pro.

Meanwhile, Fox News noted that the last time Apple released a 9.7-inch iPad to the market was still in October 2014. Fox News opined that that possible reason for this could be the diminishing interest of the public on tablets.

While Apple reported that it sold more than 16 million units of iPads in its recent quarter, the figure is reflective of the device's drop in terms of its market share in the same covered period the previous year.
