New iPhone may be launched on September 9
It is rumored that Apple is planning to unveil its new smartphone on Sept. 9 and the new phone could either be named the iPhone 6S or iPhone 7.
Last year was a major change for Apple iPhones. The iPhone 6 ushered in a new look with larger screens and significant new features. Hence, major changes just a year later may come as a surprise.
So will the new model be an extension of iPhone6 and be named "iPhone 6S" or will it be radically different and named "iPhone 7"?
Setting these rumors to rest may involve one of the more significant new features that the new model is expected to have – the Force Touch for iPhone.
There have been talks for several months now about the Force Touch feature and users are expecting Apple to deliver the iPhone 6S or 7 with Force Touch. The Force Touch is a new input method already available on the Apple Watch and MacBook laptop so we can safely assume that this feature will be extended to the iPhones too.
The Force Touch feature can differentiate between a light tap and a longer, harder touch and reacts differently to each. For example, on the Apple Watch, a light tap on an email opens it up to be read, while a bit of extra pressure takes the user directly to the reply screen.
On the iPhone 6S or 7, Force Touch will let you skip long lists of menus.
Instead of a large screen with extra controls opening up, Force Touch will take a user directly to the wanted destination. In this case, the Force Touch gesture will skip two steps.
The prices of new versions of iPhones have steadily been increasing. Reports suggest that the entry-level model of an iPhone 7 will have 32GB of storage. This large amount of storage may result in higher prices for the iPhone7.
The iPhone 7 is designed to be super-slim and Apple has gone bolder in the choice of color for this phone so there might be a dash of a primary color on the back panel and edge.
