The Heat are trying to return to the playoffs after missing out last year largely due to injuries on the squad.

On the other hand, the Pelicans made the postseason but were easily eliminated by the Golden State Warriors in the first round.

With a new season coming, expect these teams to try and battle for those playoff spots and the journey begins in the preseason.

The Heat are trying to get their legs underneath them as their veteran stars return to make another tun.

Chris Bosh is back after missing out on the season due to health issues and Dwyane Wade is looking to find his resurgence as one of the best players in the league.

Hassan Whiteside, Luol Deng and Goran Dragic complete the team's starting five which looks great on paper, and the Heat will hope to translate it on the court.

So far, the preseason has been good as they have a 4-3 record.

Their most recent result was a 110-105 win over another East rival in the Washington Wizards.

Gerald Green had an excellent game as he scored 28 points and grabbed nine rebounds off the bench to help the Heat get the victory.

On the other hand, the Pelicans are only 2-4 but with the regular season coming, they still have a lot to look forward to.

A big reason is Anthony Davis who is now considered one of the best players in the league and is believed to be the face of the franchise for years to come.

They will be trying to rebound from a loss in their last game against the Orlando Magic where they fell 110-107 despite 33 points and 16 rebounds from Davis.
