New Orleans Saints vs Seattle Seahawks: Watch NFL 2014 NFC Playoffs (Fox TV Schedule)
The New Orleans Saints will face the Seattle Seahawks in the NFL 2013 Playoffs on Saturday afternoon in what should be a fantastic game between these two huge rivals.
The teams will be vying for a place in the NFC Championship Game, and although the number 1 seeded Seahawks will be the favorites having destroyed the Saints just weeks ago, the Saints are dangerous and will be looking to get one over their long-time rivals.
The game will start at 4.35 p.m. ET and can be watched on TV on the Fox network.
The Saints finished the regular season 11-5 and overcame the Philadelphia Eagles last weekend in the Wild Card game 26-24. The Seahawks were able to rest last weekend and prepare for this game, having received a first round bye after finishing the regular season 13-3.
Last week the Saints ran for 185 yards on 36 carries in their wild-card victory, which they will be ecstatic with – it being the second-most rushing yards they've totaled in a playoff game.
They need to keep that momentum going, and certainly do better than when they visited CenturyLink Field earlier this season, when they went just 44 yards on 17 carries and looked completely void of ideas. They went on to lose that game heavily, 7-34.
If the Saints fall back early on they could seriously struggle. The Seahawks are a great team at holding off teams and slowly grinding down their opposition teams. If the Saints are forced to play catch up they could fall deep into a hole and this could turn into a one-sided game like the first match up earlier this season. In that game they went 0-17 down in the first quarter. They must avoid that, and be alongside the Seahawks at half time – if they can do that then they might be able to sneak ahead in the second half.
The Seahawks were the tightest defense in the league, allowing just 273.6 yards per game. The Saints of course will likely have to get well over that figure if they are to cause significant damage to the scoreboard today.
The Saints will also have to tighten up their own defense; earlier this season they allowed Seattle to go 429 yards, and even allowed the Seahawks to convert six of eight third downs in the first half. That kind of inefficiency would result in their downfall today, so they have to be more efficient on both sides of the ball today.
The New Orleans Saints will play the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday from 4.35 p.m. ET. The game will be shown on TV on the Fox network.
