New PlayStation Games List: 'Everything,' 'Freedom Planet,' 'Toukiden 2' Lead the Roster
A new week has arrived, which means fresh games are also being introduced to PlayStation owners. From a documentary-esque experience to action-based battles exploding with color and vitality, the genre of gameplay is as vast as one can imagine.
In a PlayStation blog post, Sony Interactive Entertainment America's Social Media senior specialist Ryan Clements has introduced a total of 14 unique titles to choose from. Out of them, five can be played on both the PlayStation 4 (PS4) and PS Vita, while the other nine are available for PS4 owners to indulge in and enjoy.
From the 14 games, the one that is arguably one of the most thought-evoking is Double Fine Presents and David OReilly's "Everything." There is no main story, but rather it invites players to see their surroundings using the eyes of almost everything they see — from large bears to small ladybugs. It gives a realization that what may be conflict as seen by one organism may be viewed as harmony by another, challenging one's own viewpoint.
For those who enjoy the nostalgic appeal of two-dimensional platformers, Galaxy Trail's "Freedom Planet" is definitely up one's alley. What makes it special is how the player can choose to play the game with a story or just plunge into the gameplay, making each experience flexible and one of a kind. Moreover, there are plenty of characters to choose from, adding more replay value.
Another great game to watch out for is Koei Tecmo's "Toukiden 2." Unlike other action games that just rely on simple hack-and-slash mechanics, the title makes it more challenging by making enemies known as the Oni formidable unless one cuts off parts to weaken them. This opens up a lot of room for tactical strategies.
Aside from the three mentioned games, other titles arriving this week include "88 Heroes," "Berserk and the Band of the Hawk," "Death Tales," "Mass Effect: Andromeda," "Rayon Riddles — Rise of the Goblin King," "Royal Defense," "This is the Police," "Touhou Double Focus," "Touhou Genso Wanderer," "Troll & I" and "Zero Escape: The Nonary Games."
