New 'Spider-Man' PS4 Trailer Shows More Story Details and Villains

The press conference for Sony's Paris Games Week 2017 proved to be an explosive one as the latest trailer for one of the most anticipated games of 2018 was released, featuring a beloved web-slinging hero.

The new trailer showcases Peter Parker as he works his way around the daily struggles of life, sans the red and blue costume. It also gives a long exposure to Mister Negative who happens to be the game's main antagonist. The villain is seen firing bolts of electricity as his main arsenal.

Moreover, the trailer also shows other opponents Spider-Man will face, including The Kingpin who is seen being escorted into a police vehicle and in handcuffs. Another interesting detail shown on the trailer is Miles Morales who will likely play a major role in the upcoming video game. Gamespot noted that Morales is currently donning the Spider-Man suit in the Marvel comics.

The game is set on the web-slinger's crime-fighting exploits in New York City, which will be massive according to the developers. Back in July, Insomniac Games confirmed via a Twitter exchange that the NYC map is comparable to Sunset City. "That's not a comparison we can really make. It's several times larger than Sunset City was tho," responded Insomniac to a fan inquiry if the Spider-Man map will be bigger than "Witcher 3's."

Sunset City is the setting for one of the developer's most popular games. "Sunset Overdrive. " Destructoid reported that Insomniac enjoyed a lot of leeway to come up with a setting for the game that will exceed that of "Sunset Overdrive's." Furthermore, the NYC setting required a more authentic feel to the city, which had to feature some of its key landmarks, among others.

The game will feature a Spider-Man that fans have never met or seen in a movie before. The game will offer "elements never-before-seen in a Spider-Man game" and "will include "unique environmental interactions."

In addition, it will also bring "new combat and cinematic blockbuster set pieces," the game's official description added.

"Spider-Man" launches on PS4 sometime in 2018.
