New 'Star Wars: Battlefront II' Footage Features Kylo Ren Tearing Apart Rebel Forces
With barely two more weeks before the release of "Star Wars: Battlefront II," a new footage emerged this week showing how ruthless one of its key villains can be.
According to Comicbook.com, game developer EA released a short footage of the game featuring Kylo Ren wielding his trusty lightsaber. The short video clip has Kylo destroying his rebel opponents, some of whom he is able to freeze. Moreover, he also has the ability to send his opponents flying into the air and release a force blast that launches enemies up and sends them crashing down to the ground.
Kylo Ren was a late addition to the game after his announced appearance in the upcoming "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" movie. Moreover, Kylo will also be appearing in the game's multiplayer mode. There is no confirmation, however, of an appearance on the single-player campaign, the report added.
Meanwhile, Gamespot noted that the multiplayer mode will feature different characters coming from the three "Star Wars" eras. This means that Kylo may have encounters with the likes of Chewbacca, among others.
As for the campaign mode, studio producer David Robillard from developer Motive Studios said that it will roughly last between five to seven hours. The length of the campaign will rely heavily on the gamers' skills and adaptability to new challenges, Robillard said in a recent PressStart interview.
"We thought that around 5-7, maybe 8 hours is probably a good amount of time," said the executive. "We wanted to stay very driven towards the Star Wars fantasy that the players are going to experience and not have it be drawn out," he added.
The length of the campaign is comparable to that of the "Call of Duty" games. Players, however, may find it short though the length does not take anything away from the compelling gaming experience, a Gamespot report noted.
"Star Wars: Battlefront II" will be launched in full on Nov. 17.
