'New Version' of 'NBA Playgrounds' Will Be Released on the Nintendo Switch Soon

Devs looking to bring the Switch version of the game up to date with other editions on the PC, PS4 and Xbox One

While PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players have been able to enjoy many of the features of "NBA Playgrounds," the experience has not been completely the same for those who prefer the Nintendo Switch.

Issues with the Switch version of the arcade basketball game have popped up ever since launch day, and these have caused many fans to complain and seek fixes from the developers.

Thus far though, the fixes that are available are still lacking, but it looks like the developers are planning to finally address this matter for good.

According to the developers, they are now working on a "new version" of the game for the Switch that is already expected to be sent in for certification in the very near future. Developers have described this latest step of theirs as a "radical solution" designed to finally bring the Switch version up to speed with the editions available on other platforms.

The developers also apologized to Switch owners for asking them to wait this long. They assured them that they have not forgotten about the Switch version of "NBA Playgrounds."

Developers indicated that they will talk more about what they have planned for the Switch version of the game sometime soon.

Notably, they also mentioned that the "radical solution" they are working on is focused on making the items included in the free updates available to everyone.

That could mean that the "Hot 'N Frosty" downloadable content pack will not be released for the Switch at the same time since that is a paid addition. This DLC pack includes new rookies who can be added to the roster, new balls that can be used for games and new courts to play on.

At this point, it seems like Switch owners will just have to continue to stay on standby as they wait to see what is next for their version of "NBA Playgrounds."
