New York Fashion Week Updates: Jeremy Scott Recalled 80s New York; Some Unglamorous Things About the Event and Celebrities Spotted So Far

New York Fashion Week about to conclude with seedy fashion from Jeremy Scott plus the unspectacular side of the most popular fashion week in the world.

Jeremy Scott's fashion was one of the most fondly remembered in the final days of the New York Fashion Week. Scott is known for his lighthearted fashion on the catwalk and he did just as expected as he channeled 80s New York with his models.

According to the designer himself, he wanted to showcase seedy 80s in New York. Scott's models came out wearing colorful, metallic outfits with the words "Rated X'' and a garment that said "HOT HOT HOT".

Scott said that he read about how seedy New York Times Square was during the 80s. He mentioned fun party scenes, characters wearing extravagant clothing, and people visiting X-rated theaters in the Lower East Side. Models appeared on the catwalk with outfits decorated with zippers, underwear, metal rings, garters, and decent amount of black clothing as well. Bright colors were also visible with models wearing shimmering sequined dresses in outlandish shapes and sizes.

The designer mentioned that he wants people who wear his creations to have fun. He revealed that he wanted to capture the mood of the decade, which was a mixture of punk, disco glamor, sci-fi and S&M. He added that he chose to do a show based on the 80s because the era was crazy.

Some unglamorous things

The week is about to end and there are reports that bare what really is behind the New York Fashion Week— the unglamorous side of the annual event that is.

Shows this year are not held in one location. The crowd has to rush from one venue to another in NYC leaving spectators tired, hungry, and very frustrated over traffic and the rush. Shows do not start as planned and mostly, the audience would have to wait for at least 20 to 30 minutes for a less than 15-minute fashion show

Reports say that crowding is the last thing that a spectator had to deal with during a show. It would be very difficult to see beyond the sea of mobile phones trying to capture the models. Audience at the back row had to make do with watching the models from the iPhones of people in front of them.

Lastly, food is terrible in most shows. The members of the audience were served with pressed juices and KIND bars.

Celebrity sightings

Among the crowd at the New York Fashion Week were Taylor Swift, Kris Jenner and the Kardashian clan, Brooklyn and David Beckham, Madonna, Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid, Kim Kardashian and husband Kanye West.
