New York Giants Roster, Injury News 2017: Wide Receiver Brandon Marshall to Undergo Season-Ending Ankle Surgery

The New York Giants will have to overhaul their wide receiver depth chart before they take on the Denver Broncos this Sunday.

It was clear that Dwayne Harris was done for the year when he broke his foot on a kickoff return in the third quarter of their game against the Los Angeles Chargers last Sunday. Seventh-year pro was diagnosed with a fractured fifth metatarsal in his foot after the game and he had to go under the knife to repair the damage.

Giants star receiver Odell Beckham Jr. would hurt his ankle as well in the fourth quarter of the game, and he was ruled out for the rest of the season on Monday after he was diagnosed with a fractured left ankle.

Now it's Brandon Marshall's turn to confirm that he has to undergo ankle stabilization surgery to fix the torn ligaments in his ankle.

"Tomorrow I'll have surgery ending year 12. I'm filled with mixed emotions. I wasn't able to produce for my team the way I wanted to but this was my greatest year to date. This game has shown me who I really am good and bad. This game has given me the opportunity to grow as a man, father, husband, teammate, leader ... I'm so thankful for this game," Marshall wrote on his Instagram account.

With Beckham, Marshall and Harris out for the year, Sterling Shepard is the only starting wide receiver left on the roster. However, he may have to miss two weeks of action with a sprained left ankle.

Meanwhile, the Giants have announced that they have signed Travis Rudolph and Tavarres King to fill the roster spots vacated by Beckham and Harris when they were moved to the injured reserve list. NFL Network has also reported that the team has already placed Marshall on injured reserve.
