Newcastle vs Maritimo will take place on Thursday afternoon in a Europa League group tie. The match will be at the Estadio dos Barreiros and can be watched online from kick off at 1 p.m. ET through live stream (details below).

Newcastle will know that this opening away fixture of their European campaign contains many hazards, and they will be looking to avoid any slip ups in tonight's game and gain the three points the Toon army will be expecting.

However, the English side will be missing key strikers Demba Ba and Papiss Cisse. Ba is one of several senior members of the Newcastle squad to have been left out of tonight's match, where as Cisse has withdrawn from the squad due to illness.

Others missing from the side traveling to Maritimo will be France international Yohan Cabaye and Hatem Ben Arfa.

According to pre-match team news goalkeeper Tim Krul, as well as defenders Danny Simpson and Fabricio Coloccini, and midfielder Cheick Tiote are all out injured as well.

Steve Harper is likely to start in goal having played in Newcastle's exciting 2-2 draw against Everton on Monday in the English Premier League. He has said ahead of tonight's game, "The good thing about this Europa League campaign is that I was able to sit and look at the draw and the bonus is we are going to three places we haven't been to before," according to BBC Sport.

"We are going to Madeira, Bordeaux and Bruges. I was looking at the draw and looking at Partizan Belgrade thinking, 'I've been there twice, can we please go somewhere else?' Not that there's anything wrong with Belgrade, but you just want to go out and experience new places.

"It's fantastic to come to Maritimo and I'll hopefully get to Bordeaux and Bruges as well."

Some have accused Newcastle manager of taking a weakened team to the game as he was expecting an easy fixture. However, he dispelled those suggestions but did admit the side was prioritizing Sunday's Premier League game against Norwich. Pardew has said, "I don't think so. We have an important game on Sunday in the Premier League, against Norwich, which we have to look to, and that is our priority. But this competition is important to us and we have brought a strong team here
