Nexus 10 2 Rumors: Original Model Returns With Android 4.4.2, New One Canceled
The Nexus 10 2 rumors have stated that Google will eliminate the larger slate in favor of other sizes.
A previous report stated that there was a chance the new Nexus 10 could come out this year, since the original had been out of stock in the Play Store for quite some time. However, that all changed this week as the Samsung Nexus 10 is back in the Play Store running the latest Android 4.4.2, KitKat software.
The actual listing says the device will be running the new software with no update. If the out-of-stock status was taken as an indicator of the new version coming soon, than it is no longer a valid sign.

Research firm IHN Technology recently stated that Google and HTC are teaming up to create an 8.9-inch "high-performance" Nexus device to replace the Nexus 10. The company's Rhona Alexander claims that volume production for this tablet will begin in July or August. It is expected to be a lower volume product that will carry a premium price tag to support the specs. She did not have any pricing information on the device.
This 8.9-inch model could be a high-end alternative to the Nexus 7 and could replace or compliment the Nexus 10. However, lack of proof that a 10-inch model exists points towards the former.
A previous report from Motoring Crunch claimed that Google had hired HTC to create the new Nexus 7 and Nexus 10. There are also other sources who stated that the new Nexus 10 could be released before the end of Q3 2014.
The device was rumored to feature a nVidia Tegra 4 processor or as Qualcomm 800 Snapdragon, Adreno GPU 330, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, 8-megapixel rear camera, a 2.1-megapixel front shooter, a 9500mAh battery and a 10-inch display with 2560 x 1600 resolution at 299 ppi.
