Nexus 4 LTE Release Coming Soon, Model Shows Up at Bluetooth SIG
The Nexus 4 LTE model could be released soon as it showed up at Bluetooth SIG earlier this week.
A certification document spotted by tech site Engadget revealed that an LTE-powered Nexus 4 could be in the works and might be introduced as a cheaper alternative to the Nexus 5 when it is unveiled later this year.
The document features the 1.1 hardware revision of the LG-E960, which is the codename for the Nexus 4.

However, not everyone is sold on what is found here, as Ron Amadeo of Ars Technica stated on a Reddit thread that the 1.1 version is already old and the latest model that is currently available in the market is labeled as 1.3. LTE devices are also usually certified by the FCC, not Bluetooth SIG. The model number is the same as the original version, further hinting at this not being a new model.
LG could be announcing a Nexus 4 LTE model soon that will launch in 16GB and 32GB memory capacities, according to previous rumors.
The new version of the device will be unveiled alongside the new Nexus 5 smartphone later on this year. The LTE model will cost $299 for the 16GB and $349 for the 32GB. The Nexus 5 will retail for $399 with 16GB and $449 for the 32GB.
This news originated in a report from Android Geeks, who received their information from an "insider," so it should be taken with a grain of salt.
The Nexus 5 release date must be coming soon as leaks seem to be surfacing more frequently.
Two sites put up pictures of devices running Android 4.4, KitKat that were posted up by Android Authority last week.
The first of these was a Nexus 5 and the other featured a Nexus 7 running the software.
Various features that have already been leaked can be seen in the new pictures including the changed Downloads app.
