Nexus 4 Price Slashed by $100, Find out Where to Buy

The Nexus 4 price was slashed by $100 by the company that manufacturers the smartphone.

The Google Play store is now offering the device for just $199. One of the bonuses of purchasing a Nexus 4 is that it comes unlocked out of the box. It normally retails for over $300.

Those who purchased the Nexus 4 in the past two weeks will also have access to this deal as the company is offering a price protection deal that will refund the difference in what they paid.

Google also announced another price cut on Twitter for select countries earlier this week.

"We've lowered the price of the #Nexus4. Get it for 25% off or more in Australia, Canada, Germany, Spain, Korea, US," tweeted the company.

The Nexus 4 successor, tentatively known as the Nexus 5, will be manufactured by Motorola, according to a rumor that surfaced earlier this month.

The new report by @evleaks involved a leak of a device that was originally thought to be an LG-made Nexus 5, but was now confirmed to be the LG Optimus L9 II.

The site tweeted out a picture of this handset and a message clarifying who will make the successor to the Nexus 4.

"PSA: that "Nexus 5" is probably the LG Optimus L9 II. Nexus 5 (Nexus 4 v2) looks to be a Motorola handset," said @evleaks.

The site suggests in the message that the next-gen Nexus might end up being an updated version of the Nexus 4, instead of a Nexus 5 with a bigger display.

Previous reports have been conflicting regarding who will make the Nexus 5.

The Nexus 5 release date will be sometime in Oct. If LG ends up making it, it could feature similar specs to the company's G2.
