Nexus 5 (2015) devices by LG and Huawei to have different screen sizes.
The leaked images of the Google Nexus 5 (2015) have surfaced showing a 5.2 inch screen size. Clearly one of the most anticipated ones, the buzz around it is that it may soon hit the market with the latest Android OS, Android Marshmallow, and two different handsets - one each from LG and Huawei.
Both LG and Huawei are manufacturing the Nexus devices. They have identical specs but Huawei's screen size is 5.7 inches as compared to LG's screen size of 5.2 inches.
LG and Huawei have incorporated the best and the latest technology into their respective versions of the Nexus 2015 phone. Their identical specs are as follows:
• A metal body which measures 146.9 x 79.9 x 9.8 m
• Front facing speakers
• Fingerprint sensor on the back of the device
• USB Type-C port
The LG Nexus is rumored to have a 3D camera along with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset. There's no news yet if the Huawei Nexus will also have that same feature.
With identical specs but differing screen sizes, the pricing aspect is important. Rumors have it that the LG handset will be cheaper than the Huawei handset. Both will most probably be in the $500 to $600 range.
Newer rumors suggest that Huawei may manufacture the Nexus 6 (2015) handset and leave the Nexus 5 (2015) handset to LG. This has not been confirmed.
Looking at the leaked image, the LG logo can be found at the bottom while the Nexus logo can be spotted near in the middle. The rumored fingerprint scanner is located just below the camera lens.
This time around, Google has decided to go with LG instead of Motorola who made the earlier Nexus 6 device. The LG-made Nexus 5 was more popular with the users compared to the Motorola-made Nexus 6 so it's no surprise that LG has been chosen a second time to make the next Nexus 5 (2015).
Both the LG-made and the Huawei-made Nexus 5 (2015) phones will be unveiled at the end of September or at the beginning of October.
