Nexus 5 2015 Release Date, Specs Rumors: New Google Hero Phone Developed by 2 Makers, Expected Debut at IFA Event

For the past few months, there have been rumors circulating all over the Web that the upcoming Nexus smartphone from Google would be made by not one, but two manufacturers. In addition, there would not be just one, but two Nexus smartphones to be announced this year -- one made by long-time Google Nexus partner LG, and the other one by Chinese manufacturer Huawei.

According to a report by Gotta Be Mobile, a recent leak about the device allegedly reveals some astonishing details. The rumors claim that the upcoming Nexus hero phone will come in two sizes - a phablet to replace the Motorola-made Nexus 6 last year, and a smaller version to replace the LG Nexus 5 a couple of years back.

Huawei, which is already considered as third in global smartphone sales, will reportedly work on the Nexus phablet, which probably packs 5.5 inches of screen real estate, or more. On the other hand, LG will take care of the other Nexus device, which rumors dub as the Nexus 5 for 2015.

Considering the manufacturing process of Huawei, the larger Nexus phone could boast a MediaTek chipset, while the LG device should get the Snapdragon 810 or 808 chipset from Qualcomm.

In the report, the two Nexus devices are rumored to make an appearance not in late September or October, just like in previous years. The two Google smartphones will allegedly be announced at the IFA event in Berlin, which is less than a month from now.

While this is definitely good news for Android purists and fans in general, there has been no other leaked specs, reports, nor features just yet about these two mysterious Nexus smartphones.
