Nexus 6 2015 rumors: Nexus 6P to feature metal build

The upcoming Nexus 6 2015 is one of the most-awaited devices to be released this year, and rumors about its possible specs and features have made their rounds on the Internet, with some reports suggesting that the smartphone may offer a metal build.

Based on recent rumors, it looks like there would be two Nexus 6 devices to be released. Huawei will launch a 5.7-inch Nexus device, while LG will release an update to the Nexus 5, according to Pocket Lint.

There are speculations that the next Nexus will be manufactured by two groups — the Huawei Nexus Angler team and the LG Nexus Bulldog team. Other reports say the next Nexus device will be officially known as the Nexus 6P, the report details.

In terms of build, the Huawei Nexus 6 will reportedly offer a metal outer case. This look borrows from the physical build of the Huawei 8. This could mean that the Nexus 6P will have a metal build with plastic inserts. Photos leaked online seem to confirm the metal casing.

The Nexus 6P will reportedly measure 150.4 mm x 78.3 mm x 6 mm. It will also come in two variants — black and silver.

As for the processor, reports suggest the Nexus 6P will run the Snapdragon 810 chip or the next-generation Snapdragon 820 processor. Serial leaker @evleaks said the device will come with a fingerprint sensor and will use the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow mobile operating system, PC Advisor reports.

Compared to the existing Nexus 6, the Nexus 6P will be powered by a better battery with a capacity of 3,500 mAh, based on some reports. Other rumored features of the upcoming Huawei device include a USB Type-C port, front-facing speakers, 128 GB of internal storage, 5.7-inch screen with 2560 x 1440 pixel resolution, and camera with optical image stabilization, the report relays.

Google has scheduled an event on Sept. 29 in which the tech giant is expected to finally unveil the most-awaited Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P, together with the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow and an updated Chromecast.
