'Nexus 6P' News, Updates, Specs: No Wireless Charging Holds Back Nexus 6P
Nowadays, mobile companies, especially ones producing Android smartphones, are head-to-head with each other in building the fastest and high-tech gadgets at affordable prices. Each one claiming to have one special feature that will set them apart from all the rest. However, when a new model of a well-loved phone comes out and one of its notable features missing, it would definitely be hard to miss by many. This is exactly the case for Nexus 6P.
According to a review by Android Central, which compared Nexus 6 to the new Nexus 6P, it highlighted that Nexus 6P lacks the wireless charging feature. Although perhaps many are still satisfied with the old-fashioned way of charging, it seems that since techies have already been introduced to the concept of wireless charging in Nexus 6, people were expecting that the more updated model would carry the capability as well. It was a disappointment to consumers to find out that it wasn't the same case, as well as a surprise to most critics that Google would choose to take a step back instead of maintaining the said feature. Although this kind of technology will perhaps be a common mobile capability, as of now, it is enjoyed by those who have as it makes them feel ahead of the rest. The turbocharging feature of wireless charging will definitely be missed when compared to the rapid-type charging feature of the USB Type-C one.
Despite this setback, it seems that the 6P does have a significant number of positive improvements. This includes the slicker overall physical appearance, being thinner and smaller in size by 0.3 inches, which many welcome as the big 6-inch screen of the 6 has become somewhat of a problem to users with small hands. The smaller screen, however, doesn't stop the pixel improvement as the 6P has a 1440 x 2560 resolution at 518 pixels per inch, while the 6 only has 493. It is also significantly lighter by 6 grams. The 12-megapixel rear camera is also improved with 1.55µm pixel size, while the front camera jumps from 2 megapixels to 8 megapixels.
