NFL News 2015: Jarryd Hayne hopes to continue NFL career despite release from SF 49ers active roster
Sidelined running back Jarryd Hayne is eager to continue playing in the NFL, despite being cut from the San Francisco 49ers roster.
A former player of the Parramatta Eels of the National Ruby League, Hayne was dropped to the practice squad of the 49ers, where 24-year old Kendall Gaskins replaced him.
NFL.com's Kevin Patra attributed Hayne's release to subpar performances during the last six games, noting that the 27-year old Australian football player struggled for the most part, committing fumbles.

"The 27-year-old struggled in tight spaces as a running back and earned just eight carries for 25 yards over six games," Patra wrote. "He was inactive in Week 7."
In a separate report by the Sydney Morning Herald, Hayne's team will be allotting 48 hours to see if another team will be selecting their client. Otherwise, Hayne will continue as a member of the San Francisco 49ers practice roster. Hayne's US agent Jack Bechta clarified through Twitter that the decision will be made by Monday or Tuesday.
"Jarryd will most likely be back to work on Mon or Tues either with the Niners or another team," Bechta wrote. "He has to clear waivers now over next 48 hrs. When teams waive a player on a Sat its usually a sign they r trying 2 sneak them thru waivers. harder 4 others 2 make claim over the weekend."
Hayne played for the Parramatta Eels for eight years, from 2006-2014. In March, he was signed as an undrafted free agent by the 49ers for three years, with a base salary amounting to $1,575,000. He was also given a $115,000, if he fails to make the 53-man roster in his first preseason.
For his part, Hayne remains positive and grateful to his fans, as he deals with his current career predicament.
"Blessed for another test," Hayne said through Twitter. "Thanks for the love TW. Wish all my guys the best against the Rams. If nothing happens, I'll be back on Tuesday."
